Performance 19 May 2008
It’s been a wonderful week of performances.
I found myself onstage at The Brighton Dome sold out for the second ‘Daughter’s of Albion,’ show duetting with the legendary Norma Waterson and playing new songs in a line up with Martin Carthy and Neil Maccoll. I was honoured to share a stage with the likes of Kathryn Williams, Lou Rhodes, June Tabor and Lisa Knapp as well.
They were cracking girls and inspirational in their own individual ways.
I played ‘The Great Escape,’ fesival a couple of days later in Brighton with my new live band. It was very exciting. I thought maybe 5 people would show up but 300 did. The crowd were awesome and a granny recognised me in the street the next day!
Last Saturday saw me play at The Shunt vaults below London Bridge tube. It was a Peter Sellars party. There were huge installations of Sellars everywhere and a performance with A Paper Mache elephant. It was rather surreal playing to an audience of at least 200 Inspector Clouseau’s. Even the Girls.

These Pictures above are by an artist called Gary Webb. I went to his opening last week at The Approach W1 where the after party was at HIX. At the party Artist, Andrew Logan told me a story about how Drag Legend Divine liked taking afternoon tea in full outfit in Harrods. Divine was apparently ‘obsessed,’ by Harrods.
Until next time!
