SALOME, SXSW and FASHION! 27 March 2009

Dear All,

My sincerest apologies for being so crap with updating you all.

I’ve been busy doing show show show.!

Over Fashion Week, I was honored to be starring in the House of Blue Eyes Extravaganza at Beach Blanket Babylon in an outfit by Giles Pearson.

Isn’t t fabulous?

Another show I really enjoyed was the wig collection by my mate Charlie Le Mindu in a mansion on Portland Place.

Kap Bambino provided an ace soundtrack to the event with french pop, scattered beats and howling psycho-billy for good measure.

There was even a wig of mice. It ruffled the feathers of the RSPCA. ‘It’s better than them being eaten by snakes, ‘quipped Le Mindu.

I has the pleasure of headlining NFT1 for the Birds Eye View Film Festival for the live soundtrack premiere of Salome.

It was a collaboration of my music with composer Neil Kaczor’s work. It was a hoot apart from the old bastard who decided to hurl abuse at me after the show.

Old fucker.

He didn’t realise there was live music. Maybe he was sadist…He stayed an awful long time for hating it that much!

I just performed last week at SXSW, courtesy of the PRS. They loved us so much, we made it into the New York times. Read this link here:

My favourite show of the whole festival was 22 year old girl genius Micachu.

The set included a love of percussive toys and music concrete style samples, together with cross rhythms drummed on paint can’s with fabulous band, ‘The Shapes.’

This lady is by far the most original thing I’ve seen in years! Like a cross between The Raincoats and Grime dubsteppers via found objects. But it’s pop and produced by Matthew Herbert.

Until next time…
